Artist Bio - Dan Rangel

Street Photography
I consider myself a Street Photographer. Most of my photographs originate there, in the curious everyday surroundings of the street of everyday life. By blending in with the environment and sometimes even talking to people I mix in with the situation of the moment. I try to keep my camera at the ready for an opportunity that might arise during my day. I always look for something human and or different. These images are but a slice of life and are taken usually at random. Truth is stranger than fiction.

Welcome to Studio 344.

Flat Iron Arts Building at 1579 N. Milwaukee Ave,
Gallery 344, Chicago, IL 60622.

We are a group of creative professionals which utilze the space for our individual needs as well as offer wall space for rent to guest artists for First Fridays. Our residents are Mia Aigotti (Photographer) Pauline T (Painting) Joe Giordano (Art Director) and Glenn Murray of 220 Communications.

My goal as an artist is to use symbols that are a part of universal consciousness to inspire and communicate with people. I feel that the use of universal symbols, a universal language, helps to point out how we really are all ultimately the same. An idea, diametrically opposed to remaining hungup on the superficial things that make us different. If in a lifetime of painting, one person will have been truly touched or inspired by my work , then all my efforts will have been worth it.
